Naps are My Friends

Little kids don't know how good they have it.
They hate going to sleep.
Either down for the night or down for a nap, they are just so afraid they will miss something good.

Little do they know that naps are AWESOME!

I am not into those power naps.

Sleep for 10 minutes and you will feel so refreshed!

Who came up with that nonsense?

It takes me that long to fall asleep
and if I do doze off for 10 minutes I wake up feeling all disoriented and really crappy.

No, a real nap should be at least 2 hours.
That's just the way it is.

That would be a siesta, right?
That's really the part of Latin culture we need to be implementing.

Maybe I like my naps so much because I don't drink coffee or much caffeine at all.

I don't really get many naps, but I sure love them.
Course that can leave me not getting everything done.

Sometimes you just gotta say WTF and take a break.
A sleep break.

Well, that's my N word for today.
Who says the N word always has to be bad?

  2. I love naps too... they are the best of self-indulgences that I rarely get to enjoy. Sometimes on Saturday afternoon when my husband gets off work we opt for a nap before deciding on what we will do for the evening. It's heavenly time stolen from our busy lives. Like you, ten minutes or a half hour doesn't do it. An hour, or even two, is so much better! Isn't it funny how our opinions of nearly everything change as we become adults?! :-)

  3. Tired is my 4-letter word. But I cannot take naps because it takes me about an hour to fall asleep and then I need at least 3 hours of sleep or I wake up feeling super sick

  4. OT, they are.

    Josie, I know.

Amber, I used to have the hardest time relaxing for a nap. Always thinking of things I should be doing.

  6. Short naps find me waking up with a headache for some reason. Longer naps are better; although I'll stay up later in the evenings cause I won't be sleepy yet. That kind of wipes out any benefits the nap gives me :(

  8. There's nothing a regret more than refusing my naps as a child. I just can't get that sort of time back now, no matter how exhausted I am. Great post!

  9. Naps may be personal. Choose wisely. Ha. I like a 10 min. nap. I can fall asleep anywhere and wake up refreshed.

  10. Oh yeah! I can't relate to this for sure. I do drink several cups of coffee in the morning but that doesn't stop me from taking a nice nap and a good night sleep. I usually don't have the luxury of the 2 hour nap except on weekends, and, ah, the luxury of it!

Yvonne, I know when I lay down with Honeyman when he gets home, I usually don't go to bed when I should. But, I never do anyway so it really doesn't matter.

Laurie, I will be sure to check your blog out. Thanks for stopping by.

E.M., I know. What were we all thinking?

Manzanita, thanks for stopping by and glad you like it. I wish power naps helped me.

Arlee, Naps are great whenever you can get them in. I wish I could do it more often.
