Z Marks the Spot

No, I know what I mean.
In my X post, I determined that the majority of X words sounds like they should start with Z.

Following this logic Z, and not X, marks the spot.
And the Z is where is all comes to a conclusion.

I got to the half-way point and thought the alphabet was so long.
But, I went on and I could see the Z was in my sights,

Now, I have reached
the pinnacle
the end
the climax.

Now, it is time to pat myself on the back and congratulate everyone else for reaching Z.

And in celebration, I am going to go plant my potatoes

  5. Thanks for sharing with us Ruth. It has been a pleasure.
I'd like to hear more about potatoes, as I thought I would try and grow some this year. I have never attempted them before.

    1. Jeff, potatoes are easy. Get some seed potatoes(or potatoes that have not been sprayed with stuff) and cut them up.You need to have 2 or 3 eyes per piece. Spread them out to dry for a few days and then plant. Not too deep-only about an inch or so. Just deep enough to cover the potato. They take about a month to come up. When they flower, you should have baby spuds. When the plants die, the potatoes are done.

    2. That's too easy! Don't I need to buy a special tractor or garden tool? LOL

    3. Jeff, you could. I have a friend that grows potatoes to sell and her husband has a thing to dig them up. My dad planted so many when we were kids that he'd overturn the hills with the plow on the back of his garden tractor. I just dig them up with a potato fork. Sometimes the potatoes grow right under the hill and sometimes they spread, but never go too deep, unlike the sweet potato.

  12. Hey Lady B - you done it! Another A to Z bites the dust and it's back to some semblance of normal. (Al excluded - normal isn't in his vocab - just wild and crazy, like his captions!)

I'm a fan of Mr Potato (not the toy, the real spud, almost wrote stud - hahaha). Lately I've been into Yams - I love them tossed in oil with some salt and pepper and roasted - yum!

How long do spuds take before one can chow down on them? Just wondering - won't be planting any, but just in case I'm ever asked! LOL

Thanks for the great ride… you done good! Cheers, your posse pal… Jenny (aka Cool J) haha

    1. Thanks, Jenny.
I love sweet potatoes too. I grew them just to make fries.
They take a few months, depending on variety and whether you want full size or the little new ones.

  13. And here I'm just intrigued by the potatoes (and your comments to Mr. Bushman). I always figured potatoes would be more difficult to grow. As a gardening nut myself, I may have to try that this year.
