Where did YOLO come from?
One day I just starting seeing this YOLO business.

I had no clue what it meant.
I didn't even think to reference my handy dandy internet slang dictionary.

Finally, I saw it used on TV.
I had to ask my daughter.

You Only Live Once.

Well, duh!
We are not cats.
No do-overs!

Unless you are in "Cityslickers".
Than life is a do-over.
But, you just can't wait til you're dead.

But, since you only live once, you might as well go for it.

Either, I live under a rock or these geek speak phrases just take off really fast.
My daughter says that it's text speak, not geek speak.

I call it how I see it.
I figure I could call it worse things.

Happy Y day!

  1. You only live once is so true. It is a good selection for the letter "Y". Smart!

  2. I wonder if Buddhists say YOLO?

    1. That's a question for Jenny at Pearson Report, I think. She's a buddhist so she's know. :)

  3. You don't know how happy I am that you wrote this post and that I read it because for the life of me I had no clue what YOLO meant, I don't know where they come up with this stuff...

  4. Glad to impart knowledge, Alex. It would be nice if people would speak normally sometimes or all the time.

  5. I feel so left out of the loop. I've been reading about YOLO on a lot of blogs and I'm wondering when this became such a popular saying. Oh dear, my kids are only toddlers and already I'm the uncool mom who knows nothing.

    Congrats on completing a-z.

    1. Jessica, I don't know. One day I just started seeing it everywhere. No such thing as an uncool mom!
