Ten Things Tuesday- Hey!

Hey is such a versatile word.
You can do so much with it.
It's also my H word for the A-Z blogging challenge.

Today's Ten Things Tuesday is all about hey and what it means.

Let's get going, shall we?

1. Hello
Just because I love this picture.

2. Hey!!!!!!
Said in a long drawn out way. Snap, snap, snap with the fingers is optional.

3. Hey.
Meaning hi, said quietly. Especially when you don't know what else to say.

4. The guy hey.
     What's up?

5. Something that has a good comeback.
When someone says "hey" you say "No, straw. Hay is for horses." OK it's goofy. It's an old time thing I guess. Or, maybe an old time Iowa thing.

6. Substitution for Hell
Don't say what the hell. Say what the hey.

7. Hey up
It's a greeting in Northern England.

8. It's a song.
"Hey" is a song from Oingo, originally known as Oingo Boingo.

9. It's a day in the sun.
Heyday is the term and it's when something was experiencing a lot of popularity.

10. Fat Albert liked to say it.
Hey, hey, hey! It's Fat Albert! He said it all the time. Don't you think he would realize everyone else would know who he was after a while?

Have a great Tuesday!

  1. The Lionel Ritchie poster made me smile. I had that song play at my first wedding

    1. Mynx, I'm glad I could give you a smile.

  2. I also liked the Lionel Ritchie poster. I remember Fat Albert, and Bill Cosby's voices were great!

    1. Julie, I have to confess that I used that poster in my H-hello post the first year I did this. I liked it so much, it needed to make another appearance.
Back when cartoons were only on Saturdays.

  3. haha, i loved this---hey hey hey--my personal fav :)

    1. Lynn, I remember watching it every Saturday morning.

  4. I like # 5. May be I will use it for my grand kids.
What ever happened to Fat Albert?

    1. Munir, I am sure they will laugh. He grew up, went on Atkins and is not fat anymore.

  5. Here, in North Jersey, we use hey as our hi. I am amazed at what you come up with!

    1. Gail, sometimes I really don't know how I do it either.

  6. That poster is fantastic! Although it could also say "Hey YOU!"

    1. Al, I saw it online somewhere and thought to myself, "That's a keeper."
Maybe Hey You if it were Nicole. Lionel is too upscale.

  7. I've never heard of "hey up", but I kinda like it. I also loved watching Fat Albert. All in all, your "h" post made me smile a lot. Thanks, Ruth.

  8. This is such a cute post! Very creative!
