Being Independent

You know how the face of the Democratic party is the donkey?

You know how the face of the Republican party is an elephant?

Well, I am an Independent and I think I need something.

I THINK it is rather appropriate, don't you?

  1. I like how we're the only country with rather generic political parties. Both the Dems and the GOP evolved out of the historic Democratic-Republican party which existed since the first days. When their rival Federalist party collapsed they were the only ones out there so one group became the Democrats and the other the National Republicans which became the Whigs which became The Republican party. And every couple of decades one great leader or movement would realign the parties which is why the most liberal party used to be the GOP and the most conservative was the Democrats.

  2. That is sooooooo appropriate.
Except wasn't "The Thinker" done by Rodin, a French dude?
Or was that Rodan, a Japanese dinosaur?
Either way, still a good choice.
Especially if it was Rodan. That'd be one talented dinosaur.

  4. The Thinker is a good face for the Independents. Too bad there aren't three or four parties to choose from. Also too bad that everyone seems to be bought.

    1. I just wish it was about the person and what they stood for and not party. No matter what, they stand with their party. Here's an idea. Have a thought all your own.

  5. Yes, and we should all think like that before voting.

    1. I think I'll forgo the pose. At least in public. People may think I'm doing some sort of Tebowing variation. I wouldn't want that.

  6. Last election in Canada, I had at least FIVE political parties to choose from! Now, that requires a bit of thinking just to figure them all out!

  7. Technically we do have more than just the 2 to choose from. But, they write Democrat and Republican big at the top. Most of the parties are ones no one has heard of or if they have, they don't know the candidate. But, they never get air time or are in papers so it is like they don't matter or exist.
