"The morning after" - and it all begins...again, same old, same old. I've just made a strong pot of coffee as I am now going to turn on the telly (I hope it doesn't explode from last night's drama) and see if your country survived...the vote. It's like earthquakes, tornados, hurricanes, and the like, are just a side show on days like this...oh well, time to put Humpty Dumpty back together again so things can carry on.
I think old Presidents had such great quotes because they still used their heads for thinking, and out of a thinking mind can come great things, quotes included.
I've been enjoying your posts on this "hot button" topic. Agreeing to disagree and respecting another person's right to have an actual opinion of their own demonstrates one's intellect and empathetic nature.
PS: Too bad your cousin chooses to remain on the bottom rung of the intellect ladder.
Jenny, there were so many things I wanted to say to her. But, it wouldn't matter. She might not even understand what I was talking about. Thanks. This has been my little outlet.
Very good posting and true words and I actually think I felt them all rolling over in their graves. IDK that could'a been the result of an extra shot of Jack N' Honey too :)
These are wise words and something more of us should consider. We are all entitled to our own opinions but should not expect others to share them. Agree to disagree and move on.

DeleteThey were wise in words and actions, spending millions of dollars on an election is shameful!
ReplyDeleteGB, I know. It is really pathetic.
DeleteJefferson was before speech writers. Talented fella.
ReplyDeleteGail, that is a very good point!
DeleteThanks for the reminder about genuine people's genuine words.
ReplyDeleteMunir, he was pretty eloquent wasn't he?
DeleteYou're a riot! Sometimes I think we'd be better off with a Star Trek captain, like Picard or Capt. Kirk..lol
ReplyDeleteAlex, I believe you are right!

Mynx, it seems like people are getting less tolerant all the time and yet they don't see it.
