I Like Violets

In fact, they are my favorite flower.
Sometimes, I will find a white violet.

That sounds strange.
A violet should be, well, violet.
That is just how it is.

But, white ones are nice too.

Violets can also give you an indication of the type of soil you have.
If you have violets growing, you have neutral soil.
Not too acidic and not too alkaline.
Just right.

Yes, I really like violets.
Except,

When they are growing in my strawberry bed. Then, they gotta go!

  1. Oh, yesyesyesyes!!! some people look at violets as a weed. What crazy, misguided people they are, LOL.

  2. A funny coincidence - I just spent an afternoon digging up violets from one place where they shouldn't be, and transporting them to another place where they should. Violets are rebellious!

  3. They grow in my yard everywhere. I would rather see the violets than the dandelions tho.

  6. We had our back yard dug up 2 years ago to replace our entire septic field - and never put grass seed down. Now the lawn is a lovely combination of dandelions and wild violets. We can't complain - the yard is mostly green!
