In fact, they are my favorite flower.
Sometimes, I will find a white violet.
That sounds strange.
A violet should be, well, violet.
That is just how it is.
But, white ones are nice too.
Violets can also give you an indication of the type of soil you have.
If you have violets growing, you have neutral soil.
Not too acidic and not too alkaline.
Just right.
Yes, I really like violets.
Except,
When they are growing in my strawberry bed. Then, they gotta go!

Oh, yesyesyesyes!!! some people look at violets as a weed. What crazy, misguided people they are, LOL.
ReplyDeleteYes, they are crazy people.
DeleteA funny coincidence - I just spent an afternoon digging up violets from one place where they shouldn't be, and transporting them to another place where they should. Violets are rebellious!
ReplyDeleteKara, mine are always growing where they shouldn't be and never in a good spot.
DeleteThey grow in my yard everywhere. I would rather see the violets than the dandelions tho.
ReplyDeleteMe too, Gossip_Grl.
Deletemy aunt use to have dozens of potted african violets ---i have never had the touch---new follower :)
ReplyDeleteLynn, I am not good with house plants. Plus, my cat thinks they are a treat for her. Thanks.
Deletei love violets! they remind me of eeyore--since they share the same color:)

I never thought about that nutschell. Who can't love something that reminds them of Eeyore.
DeleteThanks Claudia.
ReplyDeleteWe had our back yard dug up 2 years ago to replace our entire septic field - and never put grass seed down. Now the lawn is a lovely combination of dandelions and wild violets. We can't complain - the yard is mostly green!
ReplyDeleteLisa, Someday I am going to have to do that. I am not looking forward to that.
DeleteI never know that there could be white violets. Thanks for sharing. I also saw some white lavenders on YaYa's blog.
ReplyDeleteMunir, if I come across any this year I will take some pictures. Sometimes I get them, sometimes not.
DeleteI learn a lot of interesting trivia over here, Ruth. Thank you. Like Munir, I never knew violets could be white.
ReplyDeleteBe well.
xoRobyn
Robyn, they are so pretty.
DeleteI had a strawberry bed. I am not sure what happened to it.
ReplyDeleteNellie, some things only last so long.
DeleteI love that violets grow in neutral soil. I never knew that but it appeals to me.
