The Excellent Post

With a title like that, it has to be "excellent" right?

I THINK SO!

Excellent started out as just an adjective.
Something simple.
It was part of a sentence to describe something else.

In the 80s,(my era, thank you very much) Excellent! as the total sentence came to be.

Bill & Ted had what kind of adventure?
Excellent!
That's right.

Throughout the 90s it endured.

Wayne and Garth not only partied on, but did it in an "Excellent!" way.
If it is totally great-in a "Most excellent!" way.

To this day, Mr. Burns from "The Simpson's" says "Excellent" with his fingers linked all creepy like.

Now, where am I going with this?
I really don't know.

Excellent is my word and I am sticking with it.

Now, go out and have a most excellent day!

  2. That was a most excellent post! I think I'm stuck on the word "awesome" though.

Thanks for reminding me of Mr. Burns' creepy/evil, "Excellent." I always got a kick out of him saying that.

  7. This is fun, Ruth. You're rocking the challenge. The picture of Mr. Burns is a great touch. I'm trying not to joke about how excellent you and the post are. That wouldn't be original, though it would be true.

  9. I say 'excellent' a lot. When I realised, and tried not to overuse it, I started saying 'fantastic' a lot!

    1. Why is it when we overuse a word, we tend to replace that word with another word? Not 2 or 3, just one? Cause I do that too!

  10. Aha, but when you wished us an excellent day did you have your fingers curled in a creepy way?

  11. Hmm, since Easter is coming up, maybe it should be "Egg-cellent?" :)

  12. Ahh...most excellent post indeed!

Not much more to add, other than my "excellent" day started with a wonderful run, a wee walk with my dog, sitting here visiting my regular haunts (taking a break from the co-hosting gig) then it's outside to weed my flowerbeds. Yup, and if all goes according to plan...it will have been "Excellent!" indeed.

Happy Easter...or Happy Excellent weekend - either way, enjoy!
