Choice Or No?

Have you heard that "lovely" platitude -

Everything in life is your choice.
No one and nothing else is to blame.

Poppycock!

You can want a certain job so much, doesn't mean you are going to get it.
Someone else's choice.

How much is your pay or raise?
Someone else's choice.

I'd really like to date that person.
That person's choice to say yes.

Sometimes things are not our choice.
In fact, a great many things are not in our control.

People just need to stop with all of this gobble de gook.

"Choose to be happy"

Maybe I don't want to.
Maybe I can't make myself be happy.
Maybe I just woke up and thought that I'm going to make this into a shitty day.

Cause that's what I do.

As, I am writing this, I am am wondering why I have written the same word twice and one has the red squiggly line  underneath it, but not the other one.
So, I choose to think  that it's just being weird.

So, sometimes we have choice.
Sometimes we don't.

And that's the it of it.

    1. Munir, and yet there are people spouting this stuff like 100% is choice.

  3. I chose not to swat this snooty bitchy blonde bimbo yesterday. Probably a good choice. But I REALLY wanted to.

  4. That's like whenever I hear, "Have a nice day."
Well, what if I don't want to?
Too much pressure, if you ask me.

  6. I loved Susie's comment; I'm glad she didn't do what she wanted to do, LOL :)

Yep, not much choice we have on things and less choice if one is married and one has a job.

  7. I'm someone who suffers from depression. I'm also someone who, on most days, 'chooses' to be happy. In other words, I always try to be the most positive and optimistic I can be, though it doesn't always work out that way. With that said, it's not like I wake up on a day when depression hits and just magically decide not to be happy. The weirdest part of it is being in a funk and NOT being able to will myself out of it. It's not just that simple.

That's the longwinded way of saying I couldn't agree with you more.

  8. ABFTS, I think people that say you can choose to be happy have never had to deal with a lot of things, especially depression.
