I know too many of these people.
From what I understand, this has been around for awhile.
It is just making it's rounds around social media.
Again.
Why is this believable? If you have a question about the validity, do a search for tick eggs.
This is what you are gonna find:
These are tick eggs.
You are not going to find a picture of something strongly resembling squished blackberries or dewberries.
Yes, this annoys me. People don't check. They just believe it and pass it on and it goes round and round.
I could put out so many examples.
The Jackie Kennedy curtain that somehow became a Muslim curtain, Pepsi taking Under God out of the Pledge of Allegiance on a soda pop can, and the list goes on.
And telling these people does nothing to stop them from sharing the next thing they see.
That is so true! People pass on info without veriflying if it is correct or not. That's why we shouldn't be sucked into it without double checking it ourselves.

Betty, one would like to think that people would check. But, if everyone did, it would ruin all the fun of the person that came up with it to begin with.
DeleteThis is one of the things that drives me crazy about facebook. And of course I have to call them out and post links showing how whatever it is is false or misleading. And most of the time they play it off like they knew and were just joking around. Yeah, of course. *sigh*

Robyn, I was so close to taking a picture of my grocery ad (blackberries on sale) and captioning it "OMG, tick eggs are on sale at Hy-Vee." My husband told me I shouldn't. People wouldn't get it. Fun killer.
