My Thoughts on the Election

This whole political process is so drawn out.
Was the Iowa caucus only 8 months ago?

But, I guess there was the year and a half before that of campaigning.

The election season/cycle lasts so long.
I am so ready for it to be over.

I don't say a whole lot about it.
I don't understand people's reasoning for a lot of things.
That's OK.
I am sure they would say the same of me.

I do know when you get down to the bare bones of it, we all want the same things.
We want to be free to say and do what we want.
We want to be able to take care of ourselves and our loved ones.

That being said, I have some thoughts about the election and the top two choices we have.

Maybe Trump should get elected. Big business runs the government anyway, Why not have a business man in charge? Besides, I am sure he and his people will figure out someway for the US to file bankruptcy protection.

Why is Clinton corrupt and a liar and yet Trump is not? Both have done a lot of shady things and neither has been convicted of anything. And how do you know Trump is not a liar? Cause everyone can always spot a liar.

As far as sexual allegations go, if you have never been raped, sexually assaulted, or molested, shut your pie hole about waiting to tell or what the person looks like.  Cause you don't have a clue. This is not just for this election. But, it does pertain.

Not fond of Clinton's choice of fashion. But, also not fond of The Donald's facial expressions.

I don't wanna be a nasty woman.

If you can have dead man walking, why not dead man voting?

People need to quit thinking they are voting for the good one and the other is the worst thing ever.
They both have issues.

Lastly, this election is so much bigger than just who is going to be president. There is Congress and state legislatures and judges, etc, etc..

Everyone has to work together and compromise, but no one wants to do that.
My way or the highway is the new motto and it's all a mess.

  1. I am as disgusted as you are and will be glad when it is over...

  2. I'm concerned about the Supreme Court over the next 30-40 years and the impact the next candidate can have on it. Whichever one gets in will be there potentially 4 or 8 years, but the judges on the Supreme Court could be there potentially 30-40 years or longer. I won't be alive by then, but son/family/grandchild(ren) will be.

I think people need to be informed when they go out to vote. I hope people take their responsibility and go out and vote, knowing what a privilege it is to do so.

    1. Betty, that is a big one. John McCain and Ted Cruz have both stated that if Clinton is elected that the GOP will continue to block people she nominates just like they are doing now with Obama.
That is very childish and short-sighted.
A lot of people don't seem too informed. With all the information out there that should not be the case.

  3. Yep, both have plenty of issues. Trump clearly committed tax fraud and she did her shady crap. Damned if you do, and damned if you don't with those two buffoons. And yeah, no one wants to work together at all, all me me me.

    1. Pat, all this stiff makes me think of baby Bush and his "stay the course" mentally. Both sides need to learn to give a little to get a little.

  4. I can't wait for this to all be done and over with. The sad thing is whoever is elected, the other party will make sure the shady things they have done be constantly in the papers.

    1. Birgit, you are so right. You keep telling yourself that it's gonna end when the election is over. Maybe the ads, but the other crap will go on and on.

  5. We definitely need to limit campaigning to 6 months. In England, it's 6 weeks. Who are these undecided and what will it take for them to make a decision?

    1. JennTeacher, I don't think there are really undecided people. I think they just don't want to say. I am pretty sure most people had it figured out BEFORE any of the debates. Campaigning brings in big bucks. I can't see a limit ever being imposed. The USA is all about the mighty dollar.

  6. It's all a mess. I really don't understand why such a rich, smart woman chooses to dress the way she does. But don't get me started on Cheeto face.

I hope you're well and having a great birthday week, Ruth.

    1. Even though I think he's wrong, we'll never know if Bernie would have been better. I wish he was given a shot at it.

    2. Cheeto face, I like that one. Robyn, I never liked him years ago when he wasn't running for office. Thank you.

Al, I am pretty sure I would have voted for Bernie if he made it.

  7. Yes to all of this. My birthday is November 9th, and the election being over is probably the greatest birthday present I could ever receive.

  8. They both suck. All I want is for me, my family, and my friends to be left alone. And all the hate is wearing me down.
As far as Trump being a businessman? From what I can remember about US History, the last businessman we had in the White House (Carter, even though a farmer, was a governor) was Herbert Hoover. And we saw how well that ended up. Yikes!
On the other hand, I wouldn't trust Grandma with the combination for a middle school locker.
    I'm voting for Gary Coleman.
Even though he can't be reached for comment.

    1. Al, OK, Trump fancies himself as the great business man and his supporters tout that as a reason for him to get elected. And watch it on Mr. Hoover. He came from my great state. ;)
In the end, it will all be a gigantic fuster cluck just like now because Congress will refuse to work with whoever is elected because he is from the other side.
I've got relatives calling other relatives brainless(among other things) because of how they believe. It is beyond pathetic.
